JOB DESCRIPTION: HEALTH SCIENCE TEACHER

Qualifications:

  • An active Alabama license in a registered nursing, paramedical, LPN, Occupational Therapy Assistant, or Physical Therapy Assistant .
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a healthcare area and two years (3,600 hours) of full-time/part-time work experience within the past five years as a healthcare practitioner; or Associate degree in a healthcare area and three years (4,500 hours) of full-time/part-time work experience within the last five years as a healthcare practitioner.

Essential Duties:

  • Create a health science classroom environment favorable to learning and personal growth.
  • Establish effective rapport with students.
  • Motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good educational foundation.
  • Establish a positive relationship with students, parents, co-workers, volunteers, and other visitors.
