Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid West Virginia License as Registered Nurse (RN)
- Wage-earning experience: Bachelor's Degree â Hold a bachelor's degree in an area related to the specialization AND complete two years (4,000 clock hours) of satisfactory and reasonably continuous work experience in the area for which licensure is requested which includes 1 year (2,080 hours) in a certified nursing home, or distinct part of a hospital that meets the requirements of subacute/rehabilitation/nursing home experience; OR Associate Degree. â Hold an Associate Degree in an area related to the specialization AND complete two (2) years (4,000 clock hours) of satisfactory and reasonably continuous work experience in the area for which licensure is requested which includes 1 year (2,080 hours) in a certified nursing home, or distinct part of a hospital that meets the requirements of subacute/rehabilitation/nursing home experience.
- Meet minimum standards for certification as set forth by the West Virginia Board of Education in minimum standards for the Licensure of WV school personnel in order to obtain a WV Professional or vocational teaching certificate (7042).
Preferred:
- Prior teaching experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for teaching approved WVDE-approved health occupations programs (e.g., therapeutic services, allied health)
- Have an understanding of the nursing and medical industries and prepare students for career success.
- Maintain and follow all guidelines and records, including but not limited to student records, documents, purchases, and receipts, as required by the WVDE and CGCC, etc.
- Involvement in the appropriate WVDE-approved career technical student organizations (SkillsUSA and/or HOSA)
- Build and maintain a program advisory committee and follow all WVDE guidelines
- Initiate student recruitment activities at home high schools
- Adhere to simulated workplace protocols
- Maintain program to the standards of the WVDE and Office of Health Facility Licensure and Certification (OHFLAC)
- Other tasks and duties may be assigned by the Director or the immediate supervisor.
