A healthcare organization in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Director. This role provides operational, compliance, and reporting support for federally funded behavioral health grant initiatives.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day shift
- Schedule: Monday through Friday
- Hours: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Setting: Onsite
Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day operational support for federally funded SAMHSA projects to ensure activities align with approved scopes of work, timelines, and deliverables.
- Track grant conditions, notices of award, and federal guidance to support timely implementation of required actions.
- Prepare, compile, and submit programmatic and performance reports while coordinating with program, finance, and leadership teams.
- Monitor project milestones, reporting deadlines, and compliance risks across multiple grants, escalating issues as needed.
- Support fiscal coordination, including expenditure tracking, budget alignment, and documentation that supports grant compliance.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in public health, social work, public administration, or a related field.
- Experience managing or coordinating federally funded grants.
- Strong working knowledge of SAMHSA compliance requirements, reporting, and grants management systems.
- Experience coordinating across multiple projects without direct supervisory authority.
- Strong organizational, documentation, and follow-through skills.
- Ability to manage deadlines, track requirements, and maintain compliance in complex program environments.
Desired Skills:
- Experience working with multiple concurrent SAMHSA grants.
- Familiarity with behavioral health or substance use disorder programming.
- Experience in nonprofit or public-sector health and human services settings.
- Strong Excel skills and experience with expenditure tracking and reporting.
