Description
Job Title: Health Technician
Specialty: Patient Handling/Transport Support, Imaging Service
Site: VASNHS, Radiology Department
Location: 6900 North Pecos Road, North Las Vegas, NV 89086-4400
Duration: 1 year contract with the option of 4 one-year extensions
Shift Schedule: Days, weekends, and holidays, 40 hrs/week baseline
Credentialing/Onboarding Time: 6 8 weeks
Certifications:
- BLS (American Heart Association)
Special Skills Needed:
- Safe Patient Handling equipment and techniques
- Recognizing and reporting patient behavioral/status changes
- PACS-based teleradiology transmission and fax of patient data sheets (relevant Health Tech duties)
Responsibilities:
- Patient mobility assistance (wheelchair, stretcher, medical bed transport) within Radiology and other VAMC departments;
- Assisting clinical staff during codes/emergencies; transmitting archived exams to teleradiology providers
