Job Description The Health Unit Assistant (HUA) coordinates communication between nursing staff, physicians, other departments, professional staff, patients, and families relating to patient care. The HUA facilitates unit operations through knowing and communicating information, managing the desk area, facilitating the use of technology, monitoring and communicating bed status, and coordinating downtime procedures. The HUA utilizes Epic to facilitate patient care orders and serves as an Epic resource to physicians and the nursing staff.
