The Opportunity

Hospitality Health ER is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator to join our Longview team.

This role is an important part of the overall guest and care experience, serving as a key point of coordination between providers, nursing staff, radiology, laboratory services, registration, and other team members. The Health Unit Coordinator helps keep information, documentation, communication, and daily workflows organized so the team can provide an efficient and seamless experience.

The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in an environment where priorities can change quickly. This person should naturally look for ways to help, communicate effectively with a variety of teams, and take pride in creating a welcoming and professional environment.

What You'll Do

• Create a welcoming, service-focused experience through positive and professional interactions with guests, visitors, providers, and team members.
• Support daily unit flow by maintaining organized documentation, monitoring orders, preparing charts, and helping ensure information is accurate and readily available.
• Coordinate scheduling and communication related to outpatient MRI services.
• Assist with laboratory coordination, including requisitions, reports, specimens, and communication between departments.
• Coordinate CT preparation by verifying required information and communicating with Radiology to support timely service.
• Serve as a communication point between Radiology, providers, Patient Facilitators, nursing, and other departments as needed.
• Maintain accurate logs of radiology orders, timing, delays, and related documentation while ensuring records are organized and complete.
• Coordinate the administrative aspects of transfers to other facilities and ensure required transfer documentation is prepared accurately.
• Assist with radiology and laboratory pre-orders and orders, ensuring final reports are properly documented and routed to the appropriate provider.
• Communicate room availability and departures with Environmental Services to help maintain an efficient flow throughout the facility.
• Answer and direct department phone calls with professionalism and hospitality.
• Assist nursing and provider teams with accurate transcription and documentation while maintaining attention to detail and organization.
• Anticipate the needs of the team and take initiative to provide support without always being asked.
• Maintain a strong working knowledge of departmental processes through ongoing training, education, and collaboration with team members and providers.
• Contribute to a positive team culture by stepping in wherever support is needed, especially during high-volume periods.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in a healthcare-related or administrative setting preferred.
• Familiarity with medical terminology.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain composed, professional, and service-focused in emotionally charged or fast-paced situations.
• A proactive mindset with a natural willingness to take initiative and identify what needs to be done.
• Ability to read, speak, and write English effectively.
• Ability to successfully complete required orientation and demonstrate proficiency in role expectations and departmental processes.
• Commitment to continued learning, collaborative training, and maintaining required skills.
• Availability to work 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and a rotating matrix schedule.
