Job description:  Healthcare Call Center Specialist - 100% remote!

Join the Leading Edge Connections team and help support healthcare providers by communicating directly with insurance companies to obtain critical claims information. This is a high-volume outbound call center position ideal for individuals with healthcare, insurance, medical billing, or call center experience who enjoy working in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment.

As a Healthcare Call Center Representative, you will spend the majority of your day placing outbound calls to insurance companies, navigating automated phone systems, speaking with claims representatives, and documenting accurate claim information within the client's platform.

What You'll Do

  • Place outbound calls to insurance companies on behalf of healthcare providers.
  • Navigate payer IVR (automated phone) systems and remain on hold while waiting to speak with insurance representatives.
  • Ask structured, predefined questions to obtain accurate claim and insurance information.
  • Follow up on claim status, including claims that are received, processed, approved, denied, delayed, or paid.
  • Inquire about claim adjudication status, payment timelines, denial reasons, missing documentation, and appeal requirements.
  • Verify prior authorization status, insurance eligibility, and provider credentialing information.
  • Accurately document call outcomes and claim updates within the client platform.
  • Meet productivity, attendance, quality, and client performance expectations.
  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and HIPAA compliance while handling sensitive healthcare information.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of call center experience required.
  • Previous healthcare call center, insurance, medical billing, claims follow-up, or revenue cycle experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience communicating with insurance companies or healthcare payers is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Comfortable making a high volume of outbound calls throughout the day.
  • Ability to multitask while working across multiple systems.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Technical Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have your own computer and home office setup that meets the following minimum specifications:

  • Personal computer (laptop or desktop only; no phones, Chromebooks, MacBooks, iPads, netbooks, or tablets)
  • Intel® Core™ i5 5200 series processor or greater with at least 4 performance cores
  • 8GB RAM minimum
  • Windows 11 (64-bit) or higher
  • Dual monitors required
  • Screen resolution of 1280×768 or higher
  • Reliable high-speed internet with a wired Ethernet connection
  • USB noise-canceling headset with microphone (required for interviews and daily work)
  • Up-to-date antivirus software with firewall enabled

Contract Details

  • 1099 Independent Contractor
  • Paid Training
  • 100% Remote Work From Home

If you're a strong communicator who enjoys problem-solving, thrives in a high-volume call center environment, and wants to build a career supporting the healthcare industry, we'd love to hear from you.
