Job description
The Intake Specialist position is an administrative position, working within a team. Duties include fielding calls from new patients, scheduling appointments with clinicians, collecting demographic information to complete registration, verification of insurance eligibility and benefits.
Provides front line support to North Community Counseling Centers, Inc. outpatient intake systems through the performance of phone screenings, assigning prospective patients to therapists, assisting occasional walk-in clients, assisting with maintenance of the intake database and monthly reports on intake activity. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and be able to multi-task while working with minimal supervision. This position provides intake services to callers and walk-ins requesting outpatient mental health services and schedules appointments within intake system. Fast-paced environment requires excellent communication & customer service skills, the ability to organize and multi-task, and work with multiple computer-based systems.
This is a full-time hourly position.
Previous Intake experience is preferred.
Responsibilities:
Coordinates available appointment times and skills of clinical staff with callers qualifying for services.
Assists in maintaining intake logs
Collects demographic information
Collects and reports data to leadership.
Maintains the confidentiality of information acquired pertaining to patients, physicians, employees and visitors.
Discusses patient intake information only among appropriate personnel in appropriately private places.
Maintains good rapport and cooperative relationships with staff, patients and referral sources.
Other program related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with referral sources & patients; and to interact effectively with NCCC staff and the public.
Organizational skills necessary to maintain detailed records and assist in coordinating office practices and procedures.
Must demonstrate ability to exercise initiative in establishing priorities and accomplishing a wide variety of tasks.

Computer skills a must
