Role: Industry Lead, Healthcare Payer

Target Level: Senior Director or Director

Who You'll Work With

We are seeking a market-facing Payer Lead to help shape the future of payer transformation at Slalom. This leader will drive growth across our payer portfolio by bringing a differentiated perspective on how health plans modernize operations, activate AI responsibly, improve member and provider experience, and unlock new models of value and growth.

This role sits at the intersection of strategy, technology, and industry transformation-partnering with health plan executives to turn complex challenges into measurable business outcomes.

The ideal candidate combines deep payer expertise with executive relationship skills, modern technology fluency, and a proven ability to grow consulting and transformation businesses in a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape.

What You'll Do

Strategy & Growth

  • Define and lead Slalom's payer growth strategy, aligned to evolving market priorities across AI, data modernization, member experience, and operational transformation.
  • Build trusted executive relationships with payer leaders by bringing differentiated perspectives and outcome-focused solutions.
  • Drive go-to-market strategy, pipeline growth, and strategic account expansion across priority payer clients.
  • Lead executive discovery sessions toidentifytransformation opportunities and shape multi-year roadmaps.

Market & Thought Leadership

  • Shape Slalom's perspective on key payer trends, including affordability, value-based care, interoperability, AI-enabled operations, and experience transformation.
  • Represent Slalom in the market through executive forums, industry events, client engagements, and strategic partner relationships.
  • Develop thought leadership, executive briefs, and client-ready assets that translate industry change into actionable business value.
  • Partner with alliance and capability teams to build repeatable offerings, strengthen market differentiation, and accelerate solution-based selling.

Portfolio & Team Leadership

  • Lead and grow a high-performing payer practice within Slalom's HCLS business, fostering a collaborative, growth-oriented culture.
  • Partner across account, capability, and delivery teams to drive pursuits, develop solutions, and achieve growth targets.
  • Mentor and develop payer talent,strengtheningleadership depth and industryexpertiseacross the portfolio.
  • Sponsor strategic pursuits and client engagements, ensuring strong delivery quality, value realization, and long-term client trust.
  • Help shape new payer-focused offerings and solutions in partnership with cross-functional teams.

What You'll Bring

  • 10+ years leading payer transformation, consulting, digital, operations, or growth initiatives within health plans, consulting firms, or healthcare technology organizations.
  • Strong understanding of modern payer technology ecosystems and cloud/data platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to connect industry trendsand policy changesto scalable offerings and revenue growth
  • Experience leading complex consulting pursuits and executive transformation programs
  • Exceptional communication, executive presence, and leadership skills.
  • Bachelor's degreerequired; MBA,MHA, or advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience with AI, data science, and alternative payment models is highly desirable.

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For this role, we are hiring at the following levels and targeted base pay salary ranges:

The targeted base salary range for this role varies by level and location. For Chicago, Indianapolis, St. Louis, and Louisville, the targeted base salary range is $214,000-$268,000 at the Director level and $248,000-$322,000 at the Senior Director level. For New Jersey, the targeted base salary range is $233,000-$292,000 at the Director level and $270,000-$351,000 at the Senior Director level.

In addition, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
