Position: Software Engineer, Clinical Data (TypeScript, FHIR/HL7)
Type:Contract
Compensation:$75–$87/hour
Location:Remote

Role Responsibilities

  • Build robust TypeScript/Node.js services for EHR integrations.
  • Architect integration services using HL7 v2, FHIR, and EHR APIs.
  • Deploy microservices on AWS with containerization; implement data validation, monitoring, and HIPAA-compliant security.
  • Contribute to code reviews and system-design discussions.
  • Use AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate development and collaborate with product managers on clinical workflow solutions.

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • 3+ years building production systems with Node.js and TypeScript.
  • Experience at a healthcare startup or health-data integration platform, with knowledge of FHIR, HL7, patient identity management, or clinical data modeling.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals: algorithms, data structures, OOP, concurrency, and distributed systems.
  • RESTful or event-driven API design and implementation experience.
  • Microservices or cloud-native application scaling experience (AWS, Kubernetes).
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident located in the United States; this role is on-site in Seattle, WA or Madison, WI.

Preferred

  • Experience implementing OAuth2.0 / SMART on FHIR authentication flows.
