Job Details

Position Type: Hourly, Full Time

Work Hours: Swing Shift (6AM-6PM or 6PM-6AM on a rotation) 

Pay Range: $18.00 - $20.00/hour, depending on experience o Plus, $2.00/hour shift premium

Work Location: Metform -Hotform (7034 IL Rt 84 in Savanna, IL)

Reports To: Production Supervisor

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate heat-treating equipment including furnaces, ovens, and quenching systems. 

  • Load and unload materials or parts into designated fixtures or trays for heat treating processes. 

  • Oversee and adjust heat treating settings, including temperature, cycle times, and atmosphere, to meet required specifications. 

  • Inspect parts to ensure they meet quality standards, including hardness, tempering, and other metallurgical properties. 

  • Read and interpret, blueprints, work instructions and technical specifications.

  • Perform basic maintenance and calibration on equipment to ensure optimal performance. • Continually look to improve processes and procedures.

  • Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Skills/Competencies 

  • Basic mechanical skills and an understanding of heat treatment processes and equipment.

  • Ability to read and interpret, blueprints, work instructions and technical specifications.

  • Attention to detail 

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. 

  • Machine operation

  • Precision measurement

  • Problem solving

  • Product specification Qualifications (Required)

  • Education: High School Qualifications (Preferred)

  • Certifications: Powered Industrial Equipment Certification.

Physical Requirements 

  • Must be able to lift up-to 50 pounds repeatedly.

  • Required to stand for extended periods.

  • Must be able to push/pull objects up-to 50 pounds.

  • Frequent bending and stooping required.

  • Must have the dexterity to handle small objects.

  • Must be able to work in noisy environments.

  • Exposure to high temperatures, loud noise, and industrial chemicals.
