Job Description

The Heavy-Duty Cleaner plays a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the casino and resort. This position is responsible for deep cleaning high-traffic areas using industrial cleaning equipment and products, ensuring floors, carpets, furnishings, restrooms, kitchens, guest areas, and public spaces meet the highest standards of cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deep clean and maintain floors, carpets, furnishings, restrooms, kitchens, gaming areas, offices, guest rooms, and public spaces.
• Operate commercial cleaning equipment and safely use cleaning chemicals and solutions.
• Strip, seal, shampoo, steam clean, sanitize, dust, polish, and maintain a spotless appearance throughout the property.
• Empty and reline trash receptacles and maintain restroom supplies.
• Move furniture and equipment as needed to access areas for thorough cleaning.
• Report maintenance and repair needs to supervisors.
• Assist with event setup, facility projects, and seasonal duties such as snow removal when needed.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two or more years of commercial, industrial, hospitality, healthcare, casino, hotel, or similar cleaning experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Customer service focused, dependable, organized, and able to multitask.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, moving equipment, standing for extended periods, and operating cleaning equipment.
• Ability to obtain a Class IV Swinomish Gaming Commission Permit upon hire.

Swinomish Tribe, a community of Coast Salish peoples, are descendants of groups and bands originating in the Skagit and Samish River valleys; the surrounding coastal areas; and islands, including Fidalgo, Camano, Whidbey, and the San Juan Islands.

Located on the pristine Washington coast, the Swinomish Casino & Lodge is owned and operated by our tribal community. We started as a small bingo operation in 1985. In 1990, we began negotiations for a gaming license, and a Compact was signed with the State of Washington in December of 1992. We chose to build the casino next to our acclaimed Bingo Hall.
