Heavy-Duty Diesel Maintenance Specialist

Location: Channahon, IL

Schedule: Monday–Friday, shop hours 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Compensation: $31–$37 per hour, depending on experience

Your day in the shop

As a core member of our fleet service team, you’ll keep trucks and trailers road-ready through expert preventive maintenance and hands-on repairs. You arrive, gear up, and dive into inspections—then move seamlessly from electrical checks to chassis work while keeping safety front and center.

• Begin with thorough PMs: lube, filters, detailed inspections, and cab safety/security checks—inside and out.
• Address brake and tire needs: tread measurements, inflation, rotations, wheel reconditioning, and wear assessments.
• Troubleshoot basic electrical issues and replace starters, alternators, and batteries as needed.
• Swap out steering and chassis components to keep handling tight and reliable.
• R&R core powertrain parts: basic engine components, transmissions, clutches, and driveline components.
• Pitch in on additional shop tasks and assignments to keep operations smooth.

LAUNCH TransTechs is hiring a B-Level diesel professional focused on preventive maintenance and fundamental repair of heavy-duty trucks and trailers.

What you’ll bring

• High school diploma or GED plus 3+ years of hands-on mechanic experience.
• Ability and eligibility to obtain a CDL within 6 months of hire.
• Personal tool set and steel-toe boots.
• Valid driver’s license.
