Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy machinery and equipment. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely.
Duties
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment.
Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics and technical manuals to identify problems accurately.
Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to complete repairs and modifications.
Conduct inspections of equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards and operational efficiency.
Collaborate with team members to assemble and disassemble machinery as needed for repairs or upgrades.
Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their equipment needs and repair status.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance performed and parts used for each piece of equipment.
Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in heavy equipment technology.
Requirements
At least 5 years of mechanic experience with heavy equipment operation is essential.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform heavy lifting as required (up to 50 pounds).
Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and welding techniques.
Basic electrical experience is beneficial for troubleshooting electrical components of machinery.
Ability to read and interpret schematics related to mechanical systems.
Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.

Qualifications
Proven experience servicing and repairing engines manufactured by Caterpillar, Cummins, Detroit Diesel, and John Deere is required.
Experience with pump wet-end servicing and complete rebuilds.
Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including rotational shift schedules.

Overtime paid after 40 hours per week.
