    Description

Heavy-Duty Trailer Systems Technician — Lenexa, KS

    A day in the shop

Morning starts with a work order on a semi trailer due back on the road by afternoon. You trace a brake issue, check lighting circuits, and look over the suspension for wear. Before lunch, you complete a safety inspection and note a few upgrades the customer should consider. You log every step you take, collaborate with a teammate on a hydraulic concern, and wrap up the day sharing clear, friendly updates with the client. Throughout it all, you lean on your technical know-how and pride in quality workmanship—values our Lenexa facility lives by.

    What you’ll handle

    • Service and repair semi trailers—brakes, lighting, and suspension systems included.
    • Pinpoint mechanical concerns and apply effective fixes to restore performance.
    • Conduct safety compliance inspections and recommend repairs or upgrades.
    • Document all work performed with precise, organized records.
    • Coordinate with your team to keep projects on schedule.
    • Follow current industry standards and best practices.
    • Deliver clear, courteous communication to customers about repairs and maintenance needs.

    What you’ll bring

    • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in automotive or diesel mechanics is preferred.
    • Hands-on experience as a semi trailer technician or closely related role.
    • Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
    • Ability to interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
    • Sharp troubleshooting ability and meticulous attention to detail.
    • Strong communicator and dependable team player.
    • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
    • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends when needed.
