What you’ll take on
Diagnostics and Repairs
- Diagnose and repair steering and steering systems, electrical, cooling, lubrication, braking systems, drivetrains, suspensions, clutches, transmissions, and oil/temperature/gas regulating components.
- Adjust, test, and rebuild engines; complete related tasks per Federal, State/Provincial, and local requirements.
- Test-drive vehicles during preventive maintenance to validate driver-reported issues and after service to confirm successful repairs.
- Install, program, replace, and verify telematics devices.
Maintenance Operations
- Deliver scheduled preventive maintenance across the facility’s fleet.
- Handle unscheduled repairs quickly and thoroughly.
- Perform road calls and complete on-the-road repairs as assigned.
- Log time, parts used, and work performed in the work tablet and/or authorized forms.
Safety and Compliance
- Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient workspace that meets all Federal, State/Provincial, and local rules, as well as company housekeeping and safety standards.
- Operate fully within role scope and DOT compliance requirements.
- Work the assigned shift; support overtime when needed.
What you bring
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of fleet experience with diesel in heavy/medium-duty fleets.
- Minimum five years of Auto/Truck or Bus mechanical repair experience.
- Experience adhering to applicable DOT compliance for medium/heavy trucks.
- Comfort with fleet management software and digital documentation.
- Recommended minimum hand tools for Medium/Heavy-Duty Diesel work.
- Expertise with computerized diagnostics.
- Strong judgment and decision-making capability.
- Background in daily/weekly/monthly maintenance planning and scheduling.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active CDL or ability to obtain within 90 days of start.
- ASEs in brakes, suspension, engine, electrical, A/C; or Master School Bus and/or Master Truck Technician.
