About the Role

American Stone is hiring a full-time Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair quarry equipment and fleet vehicles.

This position is based in the Burley/Oakley, Idaho area and supports our Mountain Yard quarry operations.

Strong English is not required. Spanish-speaking applicants are welcome.

Pay: $25 to $35 per hour, depending on experience.

You will be responsible for inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy equipment and diesel systems while maintaining a safe and clean work environment. This role is ideal for someone dependable, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently in a hands-on quarry environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines and heavy equipment
  • Work on hydraulic systems, brakes, suspension, and transmissions
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently
  • Assist with troubleshooting mechanical issues in the field when needed

Qualifications

Required:

  • Experience working with diesel engines or heavy equipment
  • Ability to perform physical work and lift heavy objects
  • Ability to pass dr*g screening

Preferred:

  • Experience with heavy equipment (loaders, excavators, trucks)
  • Welding or fabrication experience
  • Technical certification in diesel mechanics
  • English proficiency is not required

Schedule

You will work daylight hours as you are capable, minimum 40 hours per week. You might work Saturdays. You have Sundays off.
