Own the Day: Keep Critical Machines Running in Central Austin
Picture this: You start your morning at our Central Austin, TX rental hub, review live diagnostics in our T3 platform, and head out in a well-equipped service truck. By mid-morning, you’ve already closed out two work orders—one hydraulic leak on a telehandler and a sensor fault on a skid steer—because you had the data from hundreds of makes and models right on your tablet. That’s a typical day as our Heavy Equipment Field Service Mechanic: solving problems in the field and keeping projects moving.
What You’ll Do
- Tackle maintenance and complex repairs for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems across customer and company-owned heavy equipment and aerial lifts.
- Leverage laptops/tablets and our T3 platform to create/assign/track work orders, monitor service intervals, order parts, and quickly identify root cause and corrective action.
- Travel to job sites as needed; represent the brand professionally and keep your service vehicle clean and organized.
- Champion safe work practices every time; familiarity with OSHA requirements is preferred.
- Document work thoroughly—complete electronic work orders daily.
- Mentor developing technicians when needed and support equipment/parts pickup and delivery.
- Engage in year-round OEM training to stay sharp on the newest fleet in the industry.
- Handle other duties as assigned to support the team.
Schedule & Location
- Based at our rental facility in Central Austin, TX.
- Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM.
- Overtime is paid after 40 hours.
- Subject to on-call rotation with additional compensation.

Skills & Qualifications
- Owns tools appropriate for the role.
- Advanced mechanical aptitude and strong tool knowledge.
- Deep understanding of construction equipment; able to read schematics/diagrams confidently.
- Excellent customer service, collaboration, and communication skills.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma required; trade school certificate preferred.
- Previous field service, maintenance, or repair experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable record; must be 21+ to operate a company vehicle.
Physical Requirements
- Able to stand, move, stoop, and bend freely.
- Lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Some job sites require technicians to be clean shaven to enter—be prepared to meet customer site rules.
