Job Title: Heavy Equipment Lube and Oiler Technician  

Location: Thompson Bros. Excavating, Inc. – Vancouver, WA

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Heavy Equipment Lube and Oiler Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and servicing heavy machinery by performing routine lubrication, fluid checks, minor maintenance and troubleshooting tasks with various heavy equipment, dump trucks, earth moving, and/or other construction-related equipment. Training may be available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform lubrication services on heavy equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, haul trucks, and various other vehicles equipment and machinery.
• Check and replenish fluids such as engine oil, hydraulic fluid, transmission fluid, and coolant.
• Inspect equipment for leaks, excessive wear, and potential mechanical issues.
• Maintain and operate lubrication service trucks and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Document maintenance and service activities accurately in logs and reports.
• Work closely with mechanics and operators to schedule preventive maintenance.
• Ensure all work is performed following company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
• Identify and report potential equipment failures or safety concerns.
• Keep lubrication tools, supplies, and equipment in good working condition.
• Some potential heavy equipment mechanical work as qualified or needed.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Previous experience in heavy equipment lubrication, maintenance, or a related field preferred.
• Familiarity with various types of heavy equipment and lubrication processes.
• Ability to read and understand maintenance manuals and service schedules.
• Basic mechanical skills and the ability to perform minor repairs.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Valid driver’s license, CDL and Hazmat endorsements as required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in varying weather conditions.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, if needed.
• Must be able to pass a drug test prior to employment.

Preferred Skills:

• Certification in lubrication or preventive maintenance is a plus.
• Experience working in construction, mining, or industrial environments.
• Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

Working Environment:

• Typically, outdoors in various weather types and conditions.
• Often hours will be outside of a typical 7am to 5pm shift.
• Typical working hours vary based on weather conditions and seasons, but summer months are typically 40+ hours a week.

• Pay: $30 - $45 per hour (based on qualifications and experience).
