WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE:Newberry Tanks & Equipment is a leading steel tank fabricator serving the oil jobber, agriculture, industrial, and equipment contractors nationwide. We manufacture steel petroleum storage tanks, bulk oil dispensing tanks and distribute accessory equipment. The company was founded in 1927 in Memphis, Tennessee. We are looking for an experienced material handler that can also assist with our paint operations. A successful candidate will efficiently and effectively:Safely transport raw materials, components, and finished tank products between production areas, paint, and shippingOperate heavy material handling equipment including:ForkliftsTravel LiftBoom LiftLoad and unload steel materials and finished tanks from trucks and staging areasPrecisely position large tanks and components to support fabrication, blasting, painting, fiberglass and shipping operationsCoordinate with production teams to ensure timely delivery of materials to workstationsInspect loads for stability, security, and safe handling prior to transportPerform daily equipment checks and report mechanical or safety issuesMaintain equipment cleanliness and perform basic preventive maintenanceCross-train and assist in other departments as needed to support production flowMaintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work areaFollow all company policies, safety procedures, and OSHA regulations related to equipment operation and material handlingCommunicate effectively with team members to coordinate safe movement of oversized loads Qualifications & ExperienceDemonstrated experience operating heavy material handling equipment in an industrial or manufacturing environmentExperience with large or oversized loads (preferred - highly relevant to tank handling)Experience with forklifts required; experience with Travel Lift and Boom Lift strongly preferredAbility to safely maneuver loads in tight production and yard environmentsStrong spatial awareness and attention to safetyAbility to follow instructions, communicate clearly, and work effectively with production teamsAbility to coordinate with multiple departmentsAbility to train or guide other operatorsEducationHigh school diploma or GED requiredAbility to read and understand work instructions, load documentation, and safety proceduresBasic math skills (addition, subtraction, measurements)Physical RequirementsAbility to stand and operate equipment for extended periods during shiftAbility to perform frequent climbing on/off equipmentAbility to lift up to 60 lbs as neededFrequent bending, stooping, and movement throughout the yard and facilityAbility to work in an outdoor and industrial environment (weather, noise, uneven surfaces)Strong hand-eye coordination and visual acuity
