Railserve is hiring experienced, safety-focused Heavy Equipment Mechanics in Indiana to support the inspection, maintenance, and repair of heavy construction equipment across active job sites. This is a full-time, hands-on role critical to keeping equipment operating safely, efficiently, and reliably.

Job Description
In this role, you will inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heavy construction equipment used in railroad and industrial operations.
This opportunity is ideal for experienced mechanics who enjoy problem-solving, working independently in the field, and supporting safe and efficient operations across multiple job sites.
If you have strong diesel and hydraulic experience and enjoy hands-on mechanical work, this role may be a great fit.

Overtime and after-hours work may be required based on operational needs
Compensation
$27.00 $36.00 per hour (based on experience)
Duties
Travel to job sites to inspect, service, and repair heavy construction equipment
Inspect trucks, backhoes, bulldozers, and other heavy machinery to ensure safe operation
Diagnose equipment faults using computerized diagnostic tools
Adjust, repair, or replace faulty components and parts
Perform cleaning, lubrication, and preventative maintenance on equipment
Conduct major repairs and equipment overhauls as needed
Collaborate with mechanics and operations teams to support field operations
Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment to leadership promptly
Maintain accurate repair and maintenance records
Follow all safety procedures and company standards
Perform additional duties as assigned
Job Requirements
High school diploma or GED required
Previous experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic required
Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, and heavy construction equipment
Experience using computerized diagnostic tools and systems
Ability to lift and safely handle heavy tools and equipment
Willingness to travel and work overtime as needed
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work safely in outdoor and industrial environments
