Equivalent of high school diploma or G.E.D certification and 4 years of related equipment maintenance and repair experience
Valid driver's license
Must be considered an expert-level technician in the maintenance field
Must provide your own toolbox
Mechanical or trade school certificate preferred
ASE certificates preferred
Welding and/or fabrication skills and/or experience preferred
Commercial Driver's License preferred
Performs repairs and maintenance on a variety of machines including but not limited to road trucks, pay loaders, trailers, excavators, paving equipment, crushing and screening equipment, anything with a diesel or small engine.
Use computerized diagnostic equipment and testing tools to identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
Dismantle defective machines, repair or replace worn parts, and reassemble equipment according to manufacturer specifications.
Perform routine servicing, including oil changes, lubricating parts, checking fluid levels, checking brake systems, transmissions, electrical systems, and engines.
Perform engine repairs, hydraulic repairs, and troubleshooting repairs.
Read and interpret repair orders, communicate with supervisor and/or equipment operator for clarification of problems, and discuss preventative techniques with equipment user and vehicle driver to minimize the need for future repairs.
Complete paperwork associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage.
Light fabrication and welding repairs as needed.
Perform federal annual Inspections.
Maintain cleanliness of work area.

Follows all safety policies and procedures.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
We are seeking a skilled Mechanic who has proven experience inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing large machinery and a fleet of DOT-regulated vehicles. The client has its own internal mechanic shop that supports and maintains over 300 pieces of equipment. The ideal candidate has extensive mechanical expertise, physical stamina, and welcomes a challenge or learning experience. Common fleet brands are CAT, John Deere, Mack, Peterbilt, Kenworth, Ford, Gradall, Vogele, and Power screen.
