Salary: $30/hr – $45/hr (based on experience)

Shift: Full-Time – 1st Shift (Monday–Friday)

Location: On-site – Roanoke, TX

Position Overview

We are hiring an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join a leading civil construction company in Roanoke, TX.

This position focuses on the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of Caterpillar and other major-brand heavy construction equipment used across earthmoving, excavation, and utility projects.

This is a hands-on, first-shift shop role offering long-term stability, competitive pay, and the opportunity to work with a highly skilled, safety-driven team.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on heavy equipment including dozers, excavators, loaders, graders, backhoes, and haul trucks.
• Inspect, repair, and replace hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems as needed.
• Utilize CAT ET and CAT SIS diagnostic software to identify and resolve issues.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure equipment reliability and performance.
• Maintain accurate service records and communicate repair updates to supervisors.
• Collaborate with operators and site teams to minimize downtime and maximize uptime.
• Follow all company and OSHA safety protocols during shop and field work.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or Diesel Technician.
• Strong background with Caterpillar equipment.
• Proficiency with CAT ET and CAT SIS required.
• Skilled in hydraulic, electrical, and engine troubleshooting.
• Experience with civil construction equipment such as graders, dozers, compactors, and scrapers.
• Must be dependable, safety-focused, and able to work independently.
• Valid driver’s license required; own tools preferred.

• Pay: $30 – $45/hour (based on experience)
