Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Northwest Container Services (NWCS), is looking to hire a highly motivated, Heavy EquipmentMechanic to work onTerex/Lift Ace container reach stackers, Hyster forklifts, Genie snorkel lifts, chassis, small engines, gen sets at our sites in Tacoma(1801 Taylor Way Ste A, Tacoma, WA 98421) andSeattle(635 S Edmunds St, Seattle, WA 98108).

Primary yard will be Tacoma.

Pay range is $35.00 - $40.00/HR DOE

Schedule isMonday - Friday

Shift is6:00 AM to 2:30 PM with some overtime as needed

Position requires

Valid Driver's License

&

clean drug panel screening.

Responsibilities:

• Must have the flexibility to travel to our yard in Portland, Oregon or Boardman, Oregon if needed for support or training.
• Performs repairs and assignedpreventive maintenanceservices.
• Diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, engine, transmission, suspension, differential, planetary, wet andair brakeson vehicles and equipment.
• Must have basic computer / electronic skills.
• Utilize vehicle computerelectronic systemsand laptop programs for repairs.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate andOSHAstandards.
• Maintain a cleanshop truck and an organized parts roomwith adequate inventory for repairs.
• Maintain accurate records on equipment, including oil samples, work orders and daily worklog.
• Requires strenuous outside physical work, heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 75 pounds.
• The ability to communicate the status of repairs on equipment to operations and management.
• Work with local vendors and parts suppliers for outside repairs as needed.

The ideal candidate possess:

• Position REQUIRES Valid Driver's License and clean driving record.
• Position REQUIRES Valid Medical Card to operate a Non-CDL vehicle over 10,000 LBS.
• Provide your own tools.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate service and technical information.
• Extensive experience working withheavy equipment.
• Welding and fabrication skillsnecessary.
