Heavy Equipment Operator (Skid Steer / Excavator / Mini Excavator)

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator for a 2-3 month federal construction project in Edinburg, TX. The ideal candidate will have experience safely operating skid steers, excavators, and mini excavators on commercial or civil construction projects. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and compliance with federal jobsite requirements.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate skid steers, excavators, and mini excavators on active construction sites.
- Perform excavation, grading, trenching, backfilling, material handling, and site preparation.
- Load and move soil, rock, gravel, and other construction materials.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or mechanical issues.
- Read and interpret grade stakes, site plans, and supervisor instructions.
- Work alongside laborers, pipe crews, and other trades to complete project tasks efficiently.
- Follow OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and all federal project requirements.
- Maintain equipment in a clean and safe operating condition.
- Complete assigned work accurately while meeting project schedules.
Qualifications- Minimum 2 years of experience operating skid steers, excavators, and mini excavators.
- Experience on commercial, civil, or infrastructure construction projects preferred.
- Ability to safely perform trenching, grading, excavation, and material handling.
- Knowledge of daily equipment inspections and preventive maintenance.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
Requirements- Must pass a clean background check (required for federal project).
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening, if required.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work extended hours as needed.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a plus, but not required.
