Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join a busy manufacturing operation in Oklahoma City. This position is responsible for safely operating large earth-moving equipment to transport raw materials, maintain production flow, and support daily plant operations.
Candidates must have previous experience operating larger heavy equipment such as dozers, scrapers, front-end loaders, or motor graders. This is a hands-on industrial position requiring strong equipment operating skills, dependable attendance, and a safety-first mindset.
Required Experience & Skills
Previous experience operating large earth-moving equipment required
Experience operating at least one of the following:
Dozer
Scraper
Front-End Loader
Motor Grader
Experience operating multiple types of heavy equipment is highly preferred
Strong understanding of heavy equipment safety and operating procedures
Ability to perform basic equipment inspections and identify potential maintenance concerns
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Ability to work overtime and Saturdays as needed
Important Experience Requirement
Candidates with experience operating only backhoes or skid steers do not qualify for this position.
This role requires previous hands-on experience with larger earth-moving equipment such as dozers, scrapers, front-end loaders, or motor graders.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Safely operate heavy equipment to transport and move raw materials throughout the facility
Operate equipment efficiently while maintaining production flow
Perform pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections
Monitor equipment during operation and report mechanical or maintenance concerns promptly
Move, stage, and organize raw materials according to production requirements
Assist with material handling and general production support as needed
Communicate with supervisors and team members to maintain efficient workflow
Keep equipment and surrounding work areas clean and organized
Follow all company safety policies and heavy equipment operating procedures
Perform general labor duties when equipment operation is not required
Preferred Qualifications
Experience operating a combination of dozers, scrapers, front-end loaders, and motor graders
Previous heavy industrial, manufacturing, construction, or earth-moving experience
Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with heavy equipment inspections
Experience working around raw materials and industrial production operations
Bilingual English/Spanish is a major plus
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Frequent climbing in and out of heavy equipment
Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and general physical activity
Ability to sit for extended periods while operating equipment
Comfortable performing general labor duties when equipment operation is not required
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and industrial conditions
Ability to work extended hours and Saturdays based on production demands
Work Environment
Heavy industrial manufacturing and outdoor production environment
Regular operation of large earth-moving equipment around raw materials and active production areas
Exposure to varying weather conditions, dust, noise, heavy machinery, and industrial operations
Fast-paced environment requiring strong situational awareness and safety practices
Overtime and Saturday work required as production demands increase
