Primoris Heavy Civil is looking for skilled Heavy Equipment Operators to join our growing team in heavy highway construction for our Abilene, TX location. Project start date: April 2026.

Job Description
Heavy equipment operators will need to have experience operating equipment such as:
• Excavators • Dozers • Loaders • Motor graders • Backhoes • GOMACO paving spreaders • Compactors
in a safe and efficient manner.
General Requirements
Operators perform equipment inspections and may be required to perform daily maintenance of equipment (such as greasing/lubing). Previous Operator of construction equipment, or other related industrial experience preferred. Experience in a labor-intensive position and working outside in all types of weather conditions. Ability to work independently in a team and safety-focused environment. Mechanical inclination is an asset.
Physical Demands
Must be able to:
• Climb ladders • Work from stationary platforms from elevated heights • Hear and distinguish emergency signals and instructions while on duty • Repetitively sit, lift, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, reach, and crawl • Repeatedly lift a minimum of 50 pounds • Work in all outdoor elements for extended periods of time • Work extended hours and variable shifts
Work Environment
Location: industrial construction sites and/or fabrication shop
Mobility Barriers to Access Job Site:
• Uneven ground level • Obstructed pathways • Work performed at low and/or high elevations • Work performed in confined areas
Climatic/Environmental Conditions at Job Site:
• Predominately outdoor climate • May be exposed to extreme hot or cold weather • Excessive humidity, rain, etc. • Various noise levels caused by tools, machinery, equipment, etc. • Potential exposure to chemical substances
