We have an immediate opening for a Heavy Equipment Technician to perform repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment, compact heavy equipment, light service equipment, commercial trucks, and light trucks  Typical repairs include, but are not limited to, preventative maintenance inspections, hydraulic, fuel, exhaust, brakes, suspension, electrical, HVAV, and emission systems.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Maintain2s advanced knowledge to diagnose and repair mechanical problems on heavy equipment and commercial trucks.
  • Performs repair or preventative maintenance on electrical, diesel and gasoline vehicles, including asphalt rollers, excavator, wheel loader, pavers, rock trucks, commercial trucks and other vehicles to maximize safe and productive operations.
  • Typical repairs and maintenance would include work on engines, transmissions, chassis, drive lines, and body components, hydraulic, air brake systems, electrical, suspension systems and HVAC.
  • Reads and interprets equipment condition reports and/or repair orders, communicate with supervisor for clarification of defects and discuss preventive techniques.
  • Completes paperwork associated with repairing equipment, documenting parts usage and accounting for applied times (i.e., work order times compared to time card times).
  • Identifies the source of malfunctions using a variety of electronic tools.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.
  • Follows all safety policies and procedures.

 



Requirements

  • Basic understanding of work order labor time standards.
  • Prior experience with, or knowledge of, maintenance work to be performed on heavy equipment, Classes 1-5 light /medium duty and heavy-duty Class 7-8 trucks.
  • Commercial Driver's License is a plus but not required.
  • Valid Driver's License.
