    Location: Grand Junction, CO
    Job Type: Full-Time

    Schedule

    • Monday–Friday
    • Typical hours: 7:00 AM–4:00 PM or 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
    • Overtime opportunities may be available based on business needs

    Faris Machinery is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician / Mechanic to join our Commerce City team. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, rebuilding, and maintaining a wide range of construction equipment. If you have experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and heavy equipment diagnostics, we want to hear from you.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Diagnose, repair, maintain, and service heavy construction equipment
    • Install, inspect, and repair hydraulic, electrical, brake, engine, and drivetrain systems
    • Diagnose and rebuild engines, motors, pumps, and related components
    • Perform equipment inspections and preventative maintenance services
    • Disassemble and reassemble equipment and components as needed
    • Utilize arc welding and oxy-acetylene equipment for repair and fabrication work
    • Complete service reports accurately, documenting:
      • Work performed
      • Parts and materials used
      • Labor hours
      • Equipment model and serial numbers
    • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
    • Follow all company safety policies and procedures
    • Communicate repair status and equipment needs with the Service Manager
    • Participate in technical training and professional development opportunities
    • Assist with shop operations and support fellow technicians as needed

    Qualifications

    Required

    • High school diploma or GED
    • 3–10+ years of heavy equipment technician experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and powertrain components
    • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
    • Ability to read and interpret service manuals, technical documents, and schematics
    • Proficiency in the safe use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
    • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
    • Ability to obtain a Colorado Class B CDL

    Preferred

    • Technical training in diesel technology, heavy equipment repair, or a related field
    • Welding experience including arc welding and oxy-acetylene welding
    • Experience working in a heavy equipment dealership environment
    • Current CDL (Class B or higher)
    • OEM certifications or manufacturer training

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
    • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching
    • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally
    • Ability to safely operate tools, equipment, and machinery required for the position
