Description
Are you a self-starter who enjoys working with diesel engines and problem solving? We are excited to bring on a new addition as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic. This role will diagnose, service, and repair Vermeer and related construction equipment. If you’re mechanically inclined, hands-on, and ready to build a career with a supportive team, we want to hear from you today! This role will work in the shop but also travel to customer locations as needed so a clean driving record is required.
Compensation & Schedule
- $25-$37 per hour (based on experience)
- Production bonuses available
- Sign on bonus up to $5000 for qualified candidates
Key Responsibilities
- Service, repair & recondition Vermeer equipment
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions including hydraulic & electrical experience
- Welding as needed
- Recognize and recommend appropriate repairs to the Service Manager
- Create accurate repair estimates, CDK experience a plus
- Communicate with OEM/factory for technical assistance
- Other duties as assigned
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hydraulic and electrical diagnostic capability
- Previous experience working on heavy equipment or heavy duty trucks
- Proficient ability to document in CDK
- Detail oriented, organized, safety focused and team player
