Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment and diesel-powered machinery
Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, and component replacements
Respond to service calls and complete work orders accurately
Maintain fleet reliability for steel mill and mobile equipment operations
Utilize diagnostic software and maintenance systems to track repairs
Communicate equipment status and parts needs with site leadership
Other duties as required
Requirements:
3-5 years of mechanical experience with heavy equipment and a strong working knowledge of hydraulics, powertrain, electronic/electrical systems, diesel engines, Cat SIS, Cummins INSITE, Volvo Penta, etc.
Intermediate computer skills
Experience with diagnostic software
Ability to work independently and make sound troubleshooting decisions
Valid driver's license with acceptable record
Must have your own tools from ¼ inch to 1 inch drive impact wrenches, socket sets, and wrenches up to 2 inches
Willingness to work shift schedules, overtime, and occasional weekends
Work Environment:
Steel mill and industrial environment
Work performed indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, prolonged standing, walking, and manual dexterity are required. The employee will also need to bend, climb, squat, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift/move up to 50 lbs.
