Job Title: Heavy Industrial AssemblerJob Description

The Heavy Industrial Assembler produces high-quality components by assembling parts and subassemblies for trucks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role uses hand and power tools, follows blueprints and measurements, and supports multiple areas of the assembly line to meet production demands while maintaining strict safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Produce components by assembling parts and subassemblies according to established procedures and specifications.
  • Assemble parts, wires, hoses, and hydraulics onto trucks using power equipment and proper wrenching techniques.
  • Drill holes for wires, hoses, and small parts in accordance with design and safety requirements.
  • Operate a torch, plasma cutter, or grinder to cut, shape, and prepare parts for assembly.
  • Position parts and subassemblies accurately by using blueprints or reading measurements.
  • Install various truck accessories, including decals, mud flaps, cameras, and other components as required.
  • Lift, move, and stack completed subassemblies and parts weighing up to 35 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Train and work in various areas of the assembly process to respond to changing production demands.
  • Follow verbal and written work instructions to complete tasks efficiently and correctly.
  • Apply strong attention to detail to ensure all work meets established quality standards.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with all procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Work overtime and, when needed, up to 7 days a week to support production schedules, with regular attendance required.
  • Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support the overall manufacturing operation.
Essential Skills
  • At least 6+ months of experience in a manufacturing environment or 1+ years of experience in assembly or mechanical operation.
  • Hands-on experience with industrial assembly or machine assembly in a production setting.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints or measurements to position parts and subassemblies accurately.
  • Proficiency using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Capability to assemble subassemblies, including electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical components.
  • Experience working with industrial equipment such as torches, plasma cutters, and grinders.
  • Strong attention to detail to adhere to quality standards and specifications.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written work instructions consistently.
  • Physical ability to lift and stack parts and subassemblies up to 35 pounds.
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime and potentially 7 days a week as production requires.
  • Reliability in maintaining regular and consistent attendance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with electrical assembly, including routing and securing wires.
  • Exposure to pneumatics and hydraulic systems in an industrial or machine-building environment.
  • Background in industrial assembly or machine building, especially in a truck or heavy equipment setting.
  • Comfort working with repetitive tasks while maintaining quality and productivity.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a large production team.
  • Flexibility to train in and support multiple areas of the assembly line as needed.

Work Environment

The role is based in a high-volume industrial manufacturing facility with a weld and assembly department that is expanding its workforce from approximately 300 employees toward full staffing. Team members work on truck parts and lifts daily, performing tasks that can be repetitive but are essential to consistent production. The culture encourages both independent work and collaboration with others on the line. The dress code requires jeans, steel-toe footwear, and a clean work shirt to support safety and professionalism on the floor. Multiple shifts are available, including openings on a 7:00 pm–5:00 am schedule and a 5:30 am–3:30 pm schedule, with a shift differential provided for second and third shift employees. The environment involves regular use of hand and power tools, torches, plasma cutters, and grinders, and emphasizes adherence to safety procedures and housekeeping standards.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35360.00 - $44512.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
