Heavy Industrial - Forge Helper I

Location: 181 McKee Rd ,Rochester, NY

5pm-5am shift

Basic Function:

Work in all metal forgings positions to assistoperators in the completion of customer orders.

This position is based in ourRochester, NY facility.

Candidates should be shift flexible and able towork 12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities:

Assist in the set-up and operation of hydraulicindustrial forging equipment

Set, adjust and monitor CN programs to processhot and cold forging rings

Measure and record dimensions of forgings usingscales, calipers and other tools

Set, adjust and monitor furnaces to ensurematerial is heated properly and fully

Follow all Howmet quality procedures to meetcustomer requirements

Read and interpret travelers to create forgingsmeeting customer prints

Interpret basic drawings to ensure parts andtooling are conforming

Visually inspect parts to identify and notifyengineering of defects

Use forklifts and manipulators to transport andmove hot and cold material

Perform preventative maintenance daily

Clean, paint and maintain assigned cell asrequired by your supervisor

Work with other departments and shifts toensure business needs are met

Follow all safety procedures and assist innotification of improvement areas

Strong teamwork skills in order to work withdifferent teams and leads on a daily basis

May be required to wear a respirator orsupplied air system

Other duties as assigned by management

Basic Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent

Ability to read a ruler and compete basicarithmetic

Must be able to carry out instructionsfurnished in written, oral or diagram form.

Ability to multi-task and overcome obstacles asthey arise

Continuously lift up to 30 lbs

Ability to work 12 hour shifts

Available to work nights and weekends

Salary Range: depending onexperience

Employees must be legally authorized to work inthe United States.
