    Employment: Full-time, hourly flat rate

    Position Overview:

    Courtesy Chevrolet is seeking an experienced Heavy Line Technician to join our service team. The ideal candidate will have strong diagnostic and repair experience with gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles, particularly in engine, transmission, drivetrain, and major component repairs. This position requires a highly skilled technician who can efficiently diagnose complex mechanical issues while maintaining dealership-quality standards and customer satisfaction.

    Responsibilities:

    • Perform heavy line repairs on gasoline and diesel vehicles, including engine, transmission, differential, and drivetrain repairs.
    • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical concerns using manufacturer-approved procedures and diagnostic equipment.
    • Remove, repair, rebuild, and replace major vehicle components.
    • Conduct diesel engine diagnostics and repairs, including fuel, cooling, emissions, and turbocharger systems.
    • Complete warranty and customer-pay repairs according to dealership and manufacturer standards.
    • Accurately document diagnoses, repairs performed, and parts used.
    • Perform quality inspections and road tests to verify repairs.
    • Maintain productivity, efficiency, and workmanship standards.
    • Collaborate with service advisors and management to provide accurate repair recommendations.
    • Keep work area clean and safe while following OSHA and dealership safety guidelines.
    • Stay current on GM and industry training requirements.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 3 years of heavy line automotive repair experience.
    • Diesel engine diagnostic and repair experience required.
    • Strong knowledge of engine, transmission, drivetrain, and electrical systems.
    • Ability to diagnose and repair complex vehicle issues independently.
    • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
    • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physical requirements of the position.
    • Own set of automotive technician tools.

    Preferred

    • GM dealership experience.
    • ASE Certifications.
    • GM Certifications.
    • Experience with medium-duty and heavy-duty truck repairs.
    • Experience using dealership diagnostic software and repair information systems.
