Our client is looking for a Heavy Plate Welder to join their team. Our client is a manufacturer of galvanizing kettles and related products to the continuous strip and hot-dip galvanizing industries. They manufacture specialty horizontal and vertical cylinders, tanks and DOT and ASME pressure vessels to transport pressurized gases and liquids in various capacities.
The Heavy Plate Welder will be responsible for welding on carbon and stainless steel.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- 1+ years exp. in heavy plate welding.
- Experience in STICK, MIG or TIG on both carbon & stainless steel in thickness up to 3'
- Fitting exp. is a plus.
- Positive attitude and willingness to work.
- Solid attendance is required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Perform high-quality welds on heavy plate steel.
- Prepare materials for welding, including beveling, grinding, cutting, and cleaning weld joints.
- Position, align, and fit components using clamps, jigs, cranes, or hoists.
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and welding specifications to determine requirements.
- Performing routine maintenance on welding equipment and tools.S
