Identify all tools required for tasks.
Identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.
Assist with detecting minor to major problems with machines and equipment.
Assist with disassembling, repairing and/or replacing parts with equipment.
Assist with performing tests to ensure machinery is running smoothly.
Assist with completing preventative maintenance on machinery, installing, servicing and repairing mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems steam valves, steam traps, steam or water coils, radiators, water softeners, unit heaters, condensate and circulating pumps and production machines.
Assist with cleaning and lubricating machinery.
Assist with performing basic diagnostic tests and checking performance of machinery.
Assist with using precision measuring and leveling equipment such as rulers, calipers, micrometers and other measuring instruments to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
Assist with operating engine lathes, grinders and files.
Assist with unloading, inspecting and moving equipment into position using cranes, hoists, dollies, rollers and trucks.
Assist with using rigging and hoisting devices such as chokers, chain falls and come a long to move equipment/materials into place.
Follows directions from supervisor.
Other duties as assigned.
An industrial Operator Helper will assist in maintaining, servicing, installing, repairing and inspecting machinery, heavy equipment and electrical systems in industrial plants and/or industrial settings to keep them in good working order.
