UVA Health is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Hematologist/Oncologist to join our expanding UVA Community Health Cancer Service Line in Northern Virginia. Based primarily at UVA Culpeper Medical Center and UVA Gainesville Cancer Center, this position offers the opportunity to provide high-quality hematology and oncology care across multiple community locations, supported by the strength of the University of Virginias academic medical center.
This is a growth position designed to meet the increasing demand for advanced cancer care in Northern Virginia.
Practice Setting: Outpatient, hospital-based, single-specialty group
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM (flexible 4-day workweek available)
Call: 1:6, providing nightly and weekend cross-coverage for UVA Culpeper, Prince William, and Haymarket Medical Centers
Clinical Volume: 15-20 clinic patients per day; average annual wRVUs ~5,500
Case Mix: 50% oncology / 50% hematology
Hospital Census: Average 0-2 patients daily when rounding
Procedures: Bone marrow biopsies (approx. 20 per year)
Virtual Health: Telemedicine and virtual consults integrated into practice
Support Team: Advanced Practice Clinicians (consult only), plus robust ancillary support including nutrition, social work, chaplaincy, smoking cessation, and patient advocacy services
Teaching Opportunities: Engagement with UVA Hematology/Oncology fellows (0-2 per year rotate through)
MD/DO with Board Certification in Hematology and Oncology
Eligible for medical licensure in Virginia

The base compensation range for this role is $434,001 - $671,007 for a 1.0 clinical FTE status. Individual compensation will be determined by fair market value and the selected candidate's qualifications, clinical experience, specialty training, credentials, and/or education. Please note that the pay range does not include any applicable incentive compensation programs, such as productivity, quality, non-productivity, or other incentives that may be available for eligible positions.
