Position Summary

Join our expanding Hematology Oncology Division with a fully accredited Cancer Center and teaching program with residents and Hematology - Oncology fellows in addition to APP support. Academic appointment available as well at sponsoring University Program

SinaiChicago is seeking a compassionate, patient-centered Hematology/Oncology Physician to join our expanding Cancer Care Services team. The physician will provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with both malignant and benign hematologic disorders across inpatient and outpatient settings. As part of Sinai Chicago's mission to improve the health of the communities we serve, the physician will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, evidence-based cancer care to a diverse and underserved patient population.

This position offers the opportunity to practice in a teaching environment while contributing to clinical excellence, quality improvement initiatives, and the ongoing development of oncology services throughout the Sinai Health System.

Qualifications

• DoctorofMedicine(MD)orDoctorofOsteopathicMedicine(DO)degreefromanaccreditedinstitution.
  • Completion of an accredited residency program in Internal Medicine.
  • Completion of an accredited Fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology and Medical Oncology.
  • Eligible for unrestricted Illinois medical licensure.
  • Current DEA registration.
  • Demonstrated commitment to serving diverse and underserved populations.
  • Strong commitment to multidisciplinary care, patient advocacy, and medical education.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat patients with hematologic disorders, blood diseases, and both solid and hematologic malignancies. • Provide comprehensive outpatient oncology and hematology services. • Participate in inpatient consultations and management of hospitalized oncology and hematology patients. • Develop individualized treatment plans, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and supportive care. • Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and cancer care conferences. • Collaborate closely with surgeons, radiation oncologists, primary care physicians, hospitalists, palliative care specialists, radiologists, pathologists, social workers, and nursing staff. • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and expected outcomes. • Support and participate in quality improvement, accreditation, and cancer program initiatives. • Maintain complete, accurate, and timely medical documentation within the electronic medical record. • Participate in departmental meetings and clinical activities. • Provide teaching and supervision to residents, medical students, and other learners as applicable.

Schedule

• Full-timeposition.
  • Combination of outpatient clinic and inpatient consultation responsibilities.
  • Shared call coverage for hematology and oncology services.
  • Schedule and clinic template developed collaboratively with departmental leadership.

Reporting Relationship

The Hematology/Oncology Physician reports to the Chair of Medicine and/or the Medical Director of Oncology Services.
