Opportunity Overview
Covenant HealthCare is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Hematologist (or Hematologist/Oncologist seeking a hematology-focused practice) to join our established Cancer Care Center.
This position offers the rare opportunity to work alongside a seasoned, career-long hematology specialist within our dedicated hematology silo. Designed as a long-term succession and transition plan, the incoming physician will collaborate directly with existing hematology and oncology faculty, inherit strong institutional referral streams, and gradually assume leadership within the hematology program. Candidates looking strictly for 100% Hematology or a Hematology-heavy mix are strongly encouraged to apply.
Practice Highlights & Clinical Structure
Collaborative Hematology Silo: Work directly alongside an experienced hematologist managing both benign and malignant blood disorders with an established regional referral base.
Work Schedule: Outpatient clinic Monday through Thursday (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM) with Friday reserved for administrative tasks and project time.
Robust Support Team: Dedicated outpatient RNs, medical assistants, and dedicated inpatient Advanced Practice Providers covering hospital rounds and consults. Medical scribes available upon request.
Multidisciplinary Cancer Center: Integrated practice with medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, breast and surgical oncology, and active site-specific tumor boards.
Academic & Clinical Affiliations: Teaching opportunities for Central Michigan University medical students and residents, plus clinical collaborations including MD Anderson Cancer Network peer consults.
Compensation & Comprehensive Benefits
Guaranteed Base Salary: for the first two years, transitioning to a data-driven wRVU productivity model with quality incentives.
Incentive Package: $50,000 sign-on bonus, up to $15,000 relocation reimbursement, and monthly training stipends available for fellows in training.
Student Loan Repayment: $25,000 per year in student loan assistance plus Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) eligibility.
Time Off & CME: Generous 7.5 weeks (37+ days) of annual PTO/CME, plus a $3,500–$7,000 annual CME stipend with paid licensing and dues.

Qualifications & Requirements
MD or DO with completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency and Hematology or Hematology/Oncology fellowship.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology (Board Certification required within 3 years of eligibility).
Eligible for an unrestricted medical license in the State of Michigan.
Open to newly trained fellows seeking peer mentorship as well as experienced physicians.
H-1B visa sponsorship available (unable to sponsor J-1 waivers).
