We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Hematopathologist with expertise in Surgical Pathology to join a dynamic and collaborative pathology team in San Antonio, Texas. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality diagnostic services in hematopathology while also participating in general surgical pathology coverage. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with clinicians, contribute to multidisciplinary patient care, and support a growing laboratory and hospital system serving a diverse patient population.
Provide comprehensive diagnostic interpretation of hematopathology specimens, including bone marrow biopsies, peripheral blood smears, lymph nodes, and other hematolymphoid tissues.
Participate in general surgical pathology sign-out, including interpretation of biopsies and resections across multiple organ systems.
Correlate morphologic findings with flow cytometry, cytogenetics, molecular diagnostics, and immunohistochemistry.
Communicate diagnostic findings and consult with oncologists, hematologists, and other clinicians regarding patient management.
Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and clinical conferences.
Contribute to quality assurance, laboratory compliance, and accreditation activities.
Provide consultation and second-opinion reviews when requested.
Assist with teaching and mentoring of residents, fellows, or medical students (if applicable).
Support the continuous improvement of laboratory processes and diagnostic workflows.
MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
Completion of an ACGME-accredited Anatomic Pathology residency.
Fellowship training in Hematopathology required.
Board-certified or board-eligible in AP or AP/CP, with eligibility for Hematopathology certification by the American Board of Pathology.
Eligible for Texas medical licensure.
Demonstrated expertise in hematopathology and general surgical pathology, including integration of ancillary studies such as flow cytometry, molecular diagnostics, cytogenetics, and immunohistochemistry.
Strong communication, collaboration, and diagnostic skills in a multidisciplinary clinical environment.
