    Job Description

Hemodialysis Registered Nurse (RN) – In-Center

    Location: Rockford, IL

    Position Type: Direct Hire

    Schedule: 3/12's (Monday, Wednesday, Friday)

Pay: $38 per hour - $45 per hour

Employment Type: Direct Hire, Salaried with Benefits

    The Opportunity

Looking to step away from the chaotic pace of generalized floor nursing and build a predictable, deeply rewarding career specialty? As an In-Center Hemodialysis RN, you won't just pass through a shift; you will become the vital lifeline for chronic illness patients, mastering an incredibly sophisticated blend of advanced medical technology and long-term, relationship-driven clinical care.

Why This Role Sets Your Career Apart

    • Specialized Learning & Qualifications: You don't need to be a seasoned renal expert on day one. You will complete a comprehensive training course covering both the theory and practice of hemodialysis, allowing you to master a highly technical, high-demand specialty and continually get better at what you do.
    • Advanced Technology & Resources: Forget fighting with outdated equipment. You will work directly with sophisticated, specialized machinery—ranging from advanced hemodialysis and water treatment systems to complex ancillary and emergency code carts—giving you the top-tier tools necessary to do your job safely and efficiently.
    • Autonomy & Measurable Impact: Take ownership of your clinical practice. You’ll develop, update, and execute individualized nursing care plans for End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) patients, enjoying the professional trust to make critical pre- and post-treatment patient assessments.
    • Leadership & Influence: Your voice matters here. Beyond day-to-day patient treatments, you will have the opportunity to assist in orienting and training new staff, participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) projects, and help actively shape the workflows and success of our clinic.

What You Will Do (Your Impact)

Your clinical skills will be focused across three core pillars:

    • Patient Care: Initiate, monitor, and discontinue hemodialysis treatments; administer medications safely within your scope; perform access care; provide vital education to patients and families coping with chronic illness.
    • Operations Excellence: Oversee, sanitize, and maintain specialized dialysis equipment; report technical or supply issues promptly to ensure seamless unit flow.
    • Team Collaboration: Partner directly with the Unit Medical Director, physicians, and clinic coordinators; support unit scheduling and mentor incoming team members.

What You Bring to the Team

We are looking for a dedicated nurse who values continuous clinical growth. Our ideal baseline criteria include:

    • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (a Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a health-related field is a plus!).
    • Experience: Approximately one year of general nursing experience. (If you have prior ICU/CCU background or existing hemodialysis experience, that is a huge asset, but it is not strictly required).
    • Licensure: A current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Illinois.
    • Certifications: Current, valid CPR Healthcare Recognition from the American Heart Association.
    • Logistics: A valid driver's license, insurance, and reliable transportation for standard business travel/attendance. Basic computer literacy for modern charting systems.
