A healthcare services organization in Brooklyn, New York is hiring a Hemodialysis Technologist to support patient care and dialysis equipment operations in an inpatient hemodialysis setting. This role focuses on delivering hemodialysis treatments, maintaining equipment, and assisting with day-to-day unit operations.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Evening shift
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, with alternating Saturdays
- Hours: 3:15 PM to 11:30 PM
- Setting: In-person, hospital
Responsibilities:
- Assist the registered nurse with selected aspects of hemodialysis patient care
- Perform basic patient care activities, including obtaining vital signs, weights, and other monitoring tasks
- Prepare, operate, and maintain hemodialysis equipment and related machinery
- Assess mechanical issues, replace worn parts as needed, and coordinate with technical support when necessary
- Maintain quality assurance logs, supply inventory, storage areas, and infection control compliance
Qualifications:
- Current BONENT or CCHT certification
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an approved training course in dialysis concepts, techniques, and procedures
- Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification
- Minimum of 2 years of dialysis technician experience
Desired Skills:
- Experience with Fresenius 2008 T Blue Star Premium machines, Bi-Bag systems, and portable WRO 300 H RO units
- Hemodialysis machine training
- Experience using hospital computer systems
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
