Stars That Shine is a 501(c)(3) West Virginia nonprofit dedicated to empowering, educating, and leading young women toward a brighter future. Serving the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia and beyond, we provide empowerment workshops, mentorship, academic support, leadership training, and life-changing opportunities to help girls overcome barriers and reach their full potential. ¿ In addition to our empowerment, education, and leadership programs, we are committed to addressing period poverty. Through our Girls United PERIOD Project, we are providing local schools and communities with access to free period products to ensure no girl misses school due to lack of essential supplies. Member Duties : The AmeriCorps member will support the direct delivery and planning of Stars That Shine's school-based groups, Saturday Empowerment Program, camps, conferences, and community outreach activities. Responsibilities will include helping prepare and facilitate lessons focused on self-esteem, leadership, healthy relationships, life skills, and career readiness; mentoring participants; tracking attendance and program outcomes; communicating with families and community partners; recruiting and coordinating volunteers; and assisting with program supplies, special events, and participant follow-up.
