    High School American Sign Language Teacher

    Location: Chino, California
    Job Type: Contract
    Pay: $45 to $55/hour

    What you'll do

    • Teach American Sign Language (ASL) using standards based instructional practices.
    • Create engaging lesson plans that develop receptive and expressive signing skills.
    • Assess student learning through projects, presentations, classroom activities, and formal assessments.
    • Foster an inclusive classroom that supports students with diverse learning styles.
    • Integrate technology and multimedia into daily instruction.
    • Differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs.
    • Communicate with students, parents, and school staff regarding academic progress.
    • Maintain attendance, grades, and student records in accordance with district policies.
    • Participate in department meetings, professional development, and school events.

    What you'll need

    • Bachelor's degree in Deaf Studies, American Sign Language, Deaf Education, Education, or a related field.
    • Valid California Single Subject Credential in World Language, American Sign Language with English Learner Authorization.
    • Fluency in American Sign Language.
    • Knowledge of Deaf culture, history, and community.
    • Strong classroom management and lesson planning skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Commitment to creating an equitable and inclusive learning environment.
