The Freedom Area School District is seeking a full-time highly-motivated high school art teacher who is willing to positively contribute as a collaborative team member in a highly-respected art department. The position will begin in the 2026-2027 school year. Teachers at FMS/FHS work in a professional learning community, and they use multiple approaches to classroom instruction and shared decision making. It should be noted to prospective candidates that we are currently in a $62.5 million renovation in our building that includes brand new spaces for our art department. We have great kids and will soon have the best facilities!

Skills and characteristics needed include:

  • Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with parents, students, and other staff members in various ways (i.e. website, newsletters, phone calls, e-mails,

conferences, etc.).

  • Experience working with diverse learners and supporting culturally responsive practices.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a positive rapport with all pupils.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Ability to develop, maintain, and improve professional skills by participating in building level initiatives, formal coursework, workshops, and seminars that become

available.

  • Ability to integrate technology into everyday instruction.

Candidate must hold or be eligible to hold a Wisconsin #1550 (Art) License.
