    Job Description

    Summary:

    We are seeking an enthusiastic and student-focused High School Biology Teacher to inspire the next generation of scientists and critical thinkers. This role is ideal for an educator who is passionate about life sciences, inquiry-based instruction, and creating an engaging classroom environment where students develop a strong understanding of biological concepts through hands-on laboratory experiences and real-world applications.

    The successful candidate will deliver standards-aligned biology instruction, promote scientific literacy, and foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that prepares students for college, careers, and lifelong learning.

    What You'll Do:

    • Teach high school Biology courses aligned with state curriculum standards.
    • Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that incorporate laboratory investigations, scientific inquiry, and technology.
    • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic needs of students.
    • Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments while providing timely feedback.
    • Create a safe and effective laboratory environment that follows all science safety protocols.
    • Foster critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and scientific communication skills.
    • Integrate educational technology and digital resources into daily instruction.
    • Maintain accurate student records, grades, attendance, and progress reports.
    • Communicate regularly with parents, administrators, and support staff regarding student performance.
    • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, school events, and collaborative planning activities.

    Experience You'll Need:

    • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Life Sciences, Science Education, or a related field.
    • Valid New Jersey Teacher of Biology Certification required.
    • Previous experience teaching Biology at the high school level preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of biology curriculum, laboratory instruction, and scientific methodology.
    • Experience developing standards-based lesson plans and assessments.
    • Excellent classroom management and student engagement skills.
    • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Ability to integrate instructional technology into classroom learning.
    • Commitment to creating an inclusive, equitable, and student-centered learning environment.
