Job Summary

The High School Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and processing the school''s financial transactions in accordance with district policies, state regulations, and generally accepted accounting principles. This position provides financial support to school administration, staff, students, and activity organizations while ensuring accountability for school funds.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as the main point of contact for teachers, parents, vendors, and students for deposit collection and purchases regarding student clubs and co-curriculars.
  • Maintain accurate financial records for school accounts and activity funds.
  • Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, deposits, and reimbursements.
  • Reconcile bank statements and financial accounts on a regular basis.
  • Prepare financial reports for the principal, district office, and school organizations.
  • Collect, receipt, and deposit cash and checks received by the school such as fundraising, fees, and events.
  • Monitor budgets and expenditures to ensure compliance with district policies.
  • Maintain records and oversee the accounting of student activity accounts, clubs, class funds, athletics, ticket sales and fundraising activities.
  • Assist staff with purchase orders, requisitions, and vendor payments.
  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, and district financial regulations.
  • Prepare requested documentation for annual financial audit.
  • Maintain confidential financial and personnel information.
  • Provide excellent customer service to staff, students, parents, vendors, and community members.
  • Train school staff on financial procedures as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the athletic director or district business office.
