The College Preparatory SchoolHigh School Boys Varsity Soccer Assistant Coach for 2026-27 Fall SeasonThe College Preparatory School, a private high school in North Oakland, seeks a Boys Varsity Soccer Assistant Coach for the Fall 2026-27 season. We seek a dynamic candidate looking to help build on an established and successful program that won the North Coast Section Championship in 2022-2023 and repeated as league champions in 2023-2024. Coaching candidates must be focused on coaching soccer and teaching lifelong values of sportsmanship, integrity, commitment, personal responsibility, teamwork, and self-discipline. The 2026-27 season runs from August 10th to November 14th, 2026Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Providing soccer instruction and coaching that supports the development of players' skills, techniques, game understanding, and overall growth as student-athletes.Organize and execute practice and season-long coaching plansWork effectively with student-athletes of varying abilities and cultural backgrounds to instill commitment, discipline, and teamworkAbility to motivate student-athletes to participate and sustain their interests in the program.Be a positive role model for students, coaching staff, and the College Prep communityWorking cooperatively and professionally with all school staffAttend all athletic department meetingsPresenting a positive image to the student-athletes and the campus community by maintaining appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethicsResponsible for the supervision of all students affiliated with the team.Report injuries to the Athletic Trainer, Athletic Director, and Associate. Athletic Director promptly.Qualifications:Knowledgeable of the fundamentals and advanced techniques of soccerBe a positive role model and provide direction to players of all skill levels, from the beginning player to the advanced playerCandidates should have coaching experience across high school, club, collegiate, and other competitive soccer programs who can effectively develop student-athletes of varying skill levels.Positive and professional attitudeFlexible afternoon and evening schedules Valid California driver's licenseCPR and first-aid training preferred (or willingness to gain proficiency)Founded in 1960, The College Preparatory School is an independent, coeducational secondary school created for intellectual risk-takers who want to pursue a purposeful education with kindred peers.
