Position Summary:
A public charter school is looking for a dedicated High School English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching, fostering student growth, and creating an engaging classroom environment that promotes literacy and critical thinking.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver high-quality ELA instruction aligned with curriculum standards

• Develop engaging lesson plans that promote reading, writing, speaking, and critical thinking skills

• Assess student progress and provide feedback to support academic growth

• Create a positive classroom culture that supports learning and student success

• Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and parents to support student achievement

• Participate in school initiatives, meetings, and professional development opportunities

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field

• Valid Michigan Teaching Certification OR willing to obtain (Secondary, with self-contained classroom experience preferred)

• Experience working with high school students

• Strong classroom management and communication skills

• Commitment to equity, inclusion, and fostering a supportive learning environment
