High School English Teacher (Grades 9-12)

Webberville Community Schools is seeking a passionate, student-centered High School English Teacher to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will provide engaging and meaningful English Language Arts instruction to students in grades 9-12, fostering a love of reading, writing, communication, and critical thinking.

Position Description

Responsibilities include planning and delivering standards-based instruction, assessing student learning, maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment, and collaborating with colleagues, families, and support staff to promote student success.

Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to student achievement, effective instructional practices, and creating engaging learning experiences that prepare students for success beyond high school.

Qualifications

Education:

Secondary Education 6-12/9-12 Certification

ELA Endorsement

Experience, Knowledge & Skills:

Knowledge of theory, research methods, and best practices in teaching middle school students with different learning styles and ability levels

Work collaboratively with all secondary school team members

Ability to communicate effectively and relate positively with students, staff members, parents, and administration

Ability to use data to inform instruction and support students to have successful academic outcomes in English

Understanding of social emotional learning and best practices in supporting all students' social emotional well being

Knowledge of instructional theory

Planning and organizational skills

Digital literacy skills
